Self Care

My biggest takeaway in training to become a therapist (and in becoming a mother) is the importance of self care, not just in in my own practice but for everyone to experience their best selves!

"The need to care for ourselves as an act of defiance in a society that is designed with systems that are not meant to care for the collective. Systems that are designed to keep us so overwhelmed and exhausted that we burn-out." - Jamie Hanson

And I've felt that exhaustion, visiting the doctors to try to pin down why I had so much brain fog and fatigue. I sometimes wonder about the correlation between living in London and these symptoms. However, committing to self care has become easier since becoming pregnant, it feels like a good enough reason to be more mindful of my limits and invest time into what makes me feel good - because what is good for me is definitely going to be good for baby! Self care comes from food, doing the things I enjoy and last but not least, immersing myself in nature.
